Brexit in Parliament
The Prime Minister gave her latest statement on the negotiated deal, the Treasury published their economic forecasts and the vote on the deal is expected on 11th Dec.
31 Tower Hamlets Air Cadets
On Tuesday Sheila and I joined the Air Chief Marshall congratulating our local Air Cadets at their Awards Ceremony at the Town Hall.
Warm and Safe Homes Campaign
On Wednesday I met constituent Jo Goodman from the Bromley by Bow Centre at the National Energy Action reception to speak about tackling fuel poverty.
Supporting Obesity Health Alliance (OHA)'s campaign
1 in 3 children in England leave primary school with excess weight or obesity.  On Tuesday I attended an event supporting action to tackle this, including a 9pm watershed on junk food adverts.
Islamophobia Defined
On Tuesday I attended a report launch by the APPG on British Muslims inquiring into a working definition of Islamophobia.  You can read the report here.
World AIDS Day
On Wednesday I attended the World AIDS Day Parliamentary Reception hosted by organisations aiming to raise public awareness of AIDS and eradicate it by 2030.
Christian Aid's Advent Reception
On Wednesday Christian Aid briefed MPs on their development priorities for the year ahead, including internally displaced people fleeing poverty and conflict.
Research into Autoimmune Conditions
On Monday I attended a reception highlighting the need for greater recognition for autoimmune conditions as a distinct medical research area.  More info here.
Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting
Last Tuesday I joined Bill Oddie to call for a ban on the import of hunting trophies into the UK.  We must show global leadership in stopping trophy hunting.
British Toy & Hobby Association
On Wednesday I attended an event addressing issues of safety and quality in the toy industry; plus my attendance means a free toy goes to a local charity.
British Gas: Be Smart This Winter
On Wednesday I attended a drop-in with British Gas.  During the Beast from the East they had their busiest week on record and have this advice for the winter ahead.
Giving Tuesday
This week I supported 'Giving Tuesday' promoted by the charity CAF.  It is not too late to consider giving to a good cause in Poplar and Limehouse.

Prime Minister's Questions
Wednesday saw the latest questions to the Prime Minister.  You can watch and read the exchange here in which the Leader of the Opposition's questions were on the negotiated Brexit deal and its impact on the economy and those in poverty.

This week in Parliament...

Monday
In addition to the Prime Minister's Brexit statement, there was a general debate on the 100 year anniversary of the RAF and a debate on the sale of fireworks.

Tuesday
There was an urgent question on Russia's action against Ukraine, a debate on the Courts and Tribunal's Bill and a debate on armed violence in rural Nigeria.

Wednesday
There was an urgent question on the Treasury's Brexit Economic Analysis and the remaining stages of the Offensive Weapons Bill.

Thursday
There was a debate on improving education standards and a moving debate on HIV and World AIDS Day.
