Attending a Tea Dance for the local community at George
Attending a Tea Dance for the local community at George's Green School organised by the East End Community Foundation.

Welcome to my newsletter for Poplar and Limehouse, the best way to keep up to date on some of the things I do as a Member of Parliament. This update is only a few snapshots; it cannot cover the regular surgeries, ongoing case work, research and many enquiries we receive every day.

If you are a constituent and would like to get in touch, please feel free to send me an email: along with your name and address.

Best wishes,

Brexit latest

Thames Tideway Tunnel
On Wednesday I attended a briefing for MPs on the progress of this important infrastructure project for our city's sewage system, including at King Edward's Memorial Park.

On Tuesday I met Sir Peter Bottomley MP, Martin Boyd of the Leasehold Knowledge Partnership and a representative of the Financial Ombudsman, to discuss the Ombudsman's view of leasehold reforms.

On Tuesday I attended a 'Hydrogen Showcase' by the APPG on Hydrogen, chaired by Anna Turley MP (above), where hydrogen conversion projects were demonstrated as options for decarbonisation.
Questions to the Prime Minister
Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn attended the funeral of murdered journalist Lyra McKee in Belfast, so David Lidington was questioned by Emily Thornberry.  Her questions focused on Northern Ireland, including Lyra McKee's murder and the Northern Ireland border post-Brexit.

There was an urgent question on the mass execution in Saudi Arabia and an Opposition Day debate on Local Government and Social Care Funding.

There was an urgent question on Huawei and a Backbench Business debate on school funding.
